Thank you all for the great turn out at the last global pick up conference in Washington D.C. I had a great time going back to D.C. I haven’t been there since I was about 12. It was a little different being able to go out, and naturally I had fun. If you’re not having fun this is all a chore, and no one likes chores.  I know I don’t. Yet there was a time when I didn’t have fun.  That is the story I am going to tell you today.

 No better place to begin than at the beginning. The beginning for me was middle school. That’s about the time I really started to like girls. I mean I always had girls as friends from kindergarden up.  Yet at middle school I started to think more about kissing and doing more with my girl friends. I started experimenting on how to do this.  Being nice to them was an early advice from my parents and brother. That worked like a charm. I had more girls who where friends but no girl friends.  Not what I wanted. But I always got another chance being an army brat I moved around almost every year a new school. A chance to reinvent myself, I tried notes to girls, emails, asking out, walking girls home buying girls flowers, driving them home. Same result more girls who were friends but no girl friends. This continued all the way to my junior year. When all my hard work (as I thought of it at the time) paid off, I drove a girl home and she gave me a kiss for giving her a ride home. I was 17 and happy as can be. I finally got my first kiss.  I thought I was going to be doing awesome my senior year since I was invited to 3 proms that year… as a friend. Yes… nothing happened, not even a kiss.

College things had to get better right? I was off on that one.  Same result friend to all the girls especially my friend’s girl friends. Even worse I got to hear about them sleeping with other guys.  Needless to say my hopes went down a lot. I got diagnosed with depression and gained a lot of weight from around 180 in high school to 250 since no sports to play now. What’s the point didn’t help in high school right. I started wearing baggie clothes and a hoodie. I got a nick name from my friends who were girls as the stalker since I looked like one.  This continued for a year. I got involved with games like dungeons and dragons, magic the gathering, and poker.  I majored in poker for a year in college. My depression deepened. 

My second year in college I decided that I knew what girls want. They want the guy that has money. So I dropped out of college and got a job for the government.  I was socializing with people all over the country again. My depression seemed to go away. I had people helping me learn how to talk to people. It was an amazing experience. I still was just friends with girls. I was 23 and could count the girls I had kissed on one hand. That includes girls that were bet to kiss me.  I had no game. I had no real life and was just going through the motions of life. Then the most amazing thing happened to me… I died.

No I am not a zombie. Just want to make that clear. I got in a car crash. I wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was playing with the radio, talking on the phone, with a friend in the car. I hit back of a stopped car on the free way and bounced off into the barrior almost into ongoing traffic. My head hit the windshield and I was knocked out. By all means I should be dead. They said it was a miracle I woke up and survived.  That’s why I count that as my first death. Yet something amazing happened. I woke up. When I opened my eyes all I saw was the most amazing green eyes I had ever seen.  It was paramedics who happen to be going home and got in the car with. Me I don’t know her name. But I will never forget those eyes. Fire fighters cut me out of the car and I found out I had a broke femur and shattered heel.  After a few surgeries, and a lot of morphine, I really woke up. I had nothing around me. I spend a month in a hotel room by myself on crutches.  My depression came back. I went to live with my parents and recover.  I was 23 living at home on crutches with no job learning to walk again. Talk about starting over.

That’s exactly what I did. I started over. I learned to walk. I got my job back had money coming in and time. Still no social life, just a few friends from the past, plus with my being depressed and isolated for a year I ballooned up to 300 pound.  My best friend that I had known since middle school decided that he would help me out by getting me out and doing the manliest thing we could think of. We went to UFC 87. That night changed my life. Not the fights, even though they were awesome. No it t was the sitting in a bowling all with my friend having him tell me about a show called the pickup artist. “These guys show you how to pick up girls. I have been watching it. I can show you some.” I was a skeptic from the start. That night he changed my mind. He had girls sitting at our table he got a girl begging to come back to the hotel with us. But he had a girl friend I was in shock, and neither of us was really interested in her. I was way too interested in the information. The next day I went out and bought the mystery method and the game. Read them both within three days. I couldn’t put them down I craved more information. Started going on the internet looking for more information. I had money time and a drive to know more.  I bought it all. I became a keyboard jockey for three months. Then I realized that I haven’t changed from a realization I had right after my accident. If I were to die today, would I be happy with my life?  After my accident the answer was no.  After reading all the information I had read the answer was still no. I needed help.

I found the biggest and what I thought was the best pickup company at the time. I signed up for the next boot camp and paid 3000 for training and flew to Honolulu Hawaii to meet them. I was scared but knew I couldn’t do this on my own. I spent hours in a seminar taking down a notebook of notes. We learned opinion openers and how to transition, how to walk and talk and keep the conversation going using routines. Over two nights I learned how to walk up and say an opinion opener. No numbers but I was talking to girls again. I was happy. Everyone said I was the most improved.  I took that home and was working for the government still, so I was still living out of a hotel. I started doing my routines on the front desk girls I got her to my room… we will let your mind go on what happened from there. There was a problem… I felt wrong and weird saying the same thing to every girl. I wanted more. More girls more of this feeling I was having by taking control of my life. So I went back to the internet. There had to be more and better information out there. I joined forums and got involved. Through one forum saw a guy who was doing some amazing things. Pulling 40 girls from a club to another club, getting number of girls on the street, living a lifestyle that brought girls and people into his life, he had what I wanted. He is Speer.

He had a boot camp happing in another two weeks in Miami. I signed up right away. I made a decision. That if this wasn’t what I hoped for, if I still felt weird after this boot camp I would just accept it and continue using routines and move on with my life. The flight there I was so scared. Not knowing what to expect from this guy. My fears were put at ease as I talked to him in our first meeting. He helped me with style and my general appearance. He really took time with me. Before I had even learned any information he was going to give I had new cloths and was getting compliments. As we got into the information I realized I was learning theories. Not what to say but how to say and why.  The others in my boot camp were average looking guys one was in shape and another was a path member. The path is a continuing education program Speer had. After the seminar portion the first night it was time to go out and see what would happened. We played a game to see who could get the most number that night. From the moment the other two guys walked in the club they were off getting number. I froze.

I spent 45 minutes in the club talking to Speer crying. I am not saying I had a tear coming down one cheek. I mean it looked like I had lost a family member. As I calmed down and started to walk around I saw a girl sitting on the ground. I remember opening her with it is too early for you to be that drunk. She smiled we had an interaction and I moved on. Nothing bad happened. I felt good felt about the same as the last boot camp. That positive feeling was back. I opened another girl. By using the theories I learned before now I got her number. I was in shock again. I ran to Speer and the others I got. Showing them I got my first number. They asked as I closed my phone did you save it… I looked up with disheartened eyes no, I didn’t save it. 

We moved on I got three more numbers and others were up to 9 and 7. We went outside and did some street game. I opened a girl with no phone so I pulled to back to the club, back to the hotel room, and I won the game that night. The next night I went out got 4 numbers one of which was a play boy model, and hung out with her the next day. All of this I was at 300 pounds and feeling down on myself for the longest time with very few results to show for my effort. I went back to my job continued on. I started to freeze again. My old self had caught up again depressed and down I called Speer and he let me in to the Path. 

After talking a lot of peep talks a lot of guidance and a lot of infield time. I realized my depression was gone. I was happy again. My first calls were how I would open this girl. They slowly progressed along with my progress. I learned how to talk I learned how to walk; I learned how to be who I am. I lost 95 pound as of now. I have progress so far that the last call I gave to Speer about what to do with a girl was I have two sisters fighting over me. What do I do?  That was over a year ago.  Since then I have been traveling around the country, giving boot camps talking at conferences. Getting path people on my path, helping everyone reach their dreams. I realized in that time that I am not just helping people get better with girls. I am helping people get better with their lives physically, socially, and mentally. I have helped so many to this point I lost count. I think that’s what it comes down to in the end is passing the information on and leaving a positive vibe with everyone you meet.  That one of the things that made me the happiest, another great side affect is the fact that I have a problem of which girl am I taking home, and which one do I want to call my girl friend now, the problems I am faced with these days. J  I think I will survive.

I was thinking to myself today regarding what really needs to happen for someone to get good at dating.  What do you think it is?

When you go out and get the same results is it your fault or theirs?

Take, for example, my friend ‘Mary,’ she goes out all of the time and complains that no one approaches her.  She can’t understand why.   Given Mary is a rather attractive woman and has a lot going for her.  Guys should be falling over her, but they are not.

I’ve gone out with her, and know exactly why she doesn’t get approached.  She’ll go sit down in the farthest corner in a booth where no one can see her.   When she walks around, her head is down, arms are crossed and gives off the vibe that she can’t be dealt with.

What guy is going to approach her?  Her body language shows ‘I’m closed off.’  She hides in the corner of the bar.  She goes to the same locations and never changes.

Too many guys do this too.

These bad habits are limiting their success.

If something isn’t working, change it!

STOP doing the same things over and over again expecting a different result!

First, address what are your habits:  notice where you go, where you stand/sit in a location, what does your body language show, are you smiling, do you give opportunities to approach/be approached?

Now, that you have a list of what you do and how you go about meeting people, Start Changing it!

If you go to the same bar, club, grocery store, book store, etc., change it to another location.  Go to a museum.  Join a soccer team.  Just stop doing the same thing!

Instead of standing in the corner of the room, stand in the middle.  There’s more traffic and people can get to you with ease.

If you want to get good at dating, you’re going to have to focus on dating.  Take inventory of what you do and how you do it.  Start making changes.

Give complements to complete strangers!   Just go out and do it!

One of the quickest and most effective way to do this is have a dating coach that can help you through your metamorphosis.   They should easily be able to see your patterns and show you what you’re doing wrong.  A well trained coach can remove months of frustration and boost you to the next level of dating.

Nothing happens without action.  This is worth saying twice.  Nothing happens without action.

Go out and make it happen.   Start changing and start your journey.

It is true, but not necessarily true that confidence comes from past experience. Past experiences provide evidence and imagery to guide your mind, but they are not necessary per se. Almost everyone who is now very successful at something was once not successful. In fact many of these people who are successful keep trying new things and often hit set backs along the way.

How do you start the process so that you have the past successes that you can use to build upon present success? Basically you have to believe you are capable and deserve to be successful FIRST in order to become a success. You have to think “you’re the shit” at an emotional level in order to become the shit! This is true even before you have any external validation from other people or tangible results that you are in fact successful.

2. Anything vividly visualized or repeatedly in a strong enough way in side your mind to where it becomes a belief is indistinguishable from what has actually happened when it comes to guiding your subconscious mind.

For that I have two quick examples to illustrate this principle.

In college my friend Chad was a total natural with women, yet he was the same height, body build and similar in looks to myself. I wondered what made his results so different from mine. His attitude and frame of mind was very powerful. When he walked into a room he identified several women to me in the room that wanted to have sex with him. I asked him how he knew. He said he knew because of how they responded to the way he looked at them which was a result of his confidence.

In a great bit of circular reasoning he said women “respond to me positively because I’m confident, I’m confident because women respond positively to me.” I asked, how do you first be confident to get the cycle going. His response: If I’m not feeling it at first I fake it until I make it and get responses as if I were already confident and then I just keep going from there. I fake like I’m confident, so women respond to me as if I’m confident, then I’m confident because women are responding to me like I’m confident.

A second example comes from handwriting analysis, also known as graphology, where a person’s personality is a great tool for creating a snap shot of a person’s personality based on a combination of traits at the time of writing.

One of the biggest characteristics of success is ego strength, measured on the size of the capital letters in a person’s signature and also the overall size of their signature compared to the rest of the their handwriting. Note, ego strength as defined in handwriting analysis is not necessarily vanity or “egotism” in this definition, nor is it internal self-deservedness, it is a measure of your perception of how powerful you are in the world and with other people.

It turns out that pro-athletes and rock stars almost always have a very big ego. I know what a big surprise! However in almost all cases the star athlete or rocker had the big ego first, years before he became famous. In other words he already thought he was a big deal long before he had made it big and gotten all of the external recognition.

In other words, for us to become anything, we have to first act, speak and believe we are going to be successful before we really actually have the evidence that we have achieved it. We have to believe that we’re worth a lot of money when we’re not making a lot of money. We have to believe that we’re champion athletes when we’re not yet champion athletes. We have to believe that we are desirable to women, even when women are not yet throwing themselves at us. When we’re still working and developing our skills to attract the women, we have to see and believe our future success as if it is already an indisputable reality. In a word BELIEVE and succeed.

Many of our members found us after reading books like “The Game” by Neil Strauss, a story of a writer who became a rising star and “pickup artist.” The Game documents Neil Strauss’ experience in the seductive and mysterious world of the pickup artist (“PUA”) community. Other members searched for a local “lair” or “forum” where they could find wingmen to go out with and improve their dating and social lives and found us.   However, the Attraction Vault is about more than just “picking up” women.  The Attraction Vault is a community established to help individuals grow as people. 

Who We Are

We are an all volunteer group of primarily men, and some helpful, supportive women mostly in Washington, DC, Baltimore and Miami metropolitan areas who work together to help one another improve our dating and social lives. Members of the Attraction Vault range from working professionals with extensive experience in dating, to young men with little experience in dating and socializing with women. Members also include divorced men in their 30s and 40s that just want to get back into the dating game and single men who are already happy with their dating life, but are seeking constant improvement in their relationships. 

What We Do

Members provide advice and support to each other through a private online discussion forum. The forum posts focus on topics that help individuals develop the dating and social skills required to initiate, enhance and manage relationships. We also facilitate events where men meet in person and collaborate to socialize and meet other wingmen and wingwomen,  go out during the day and get involved in events where they can initiate conversations and establish relationships with women, and/or go out and enjoy the socialthe nightlife in Washington, DC and Miami.

We also host educational events in Washington, DC,  Baltimore and Miami. We host these events through coordinating with local Dating Coaches and Nationally known Speakers.  Our list of speakers has included Brad P, DJ Fuji, Nick Quick, Vince Kelvin, Psych, Adam Lyons, Badboy, James Marshall, Speer, QuickKill, Brother James, Cuisine and many more. In addition, we have a forum where members review pickup artist products and dating services.
